On April 5, 2008, Dr. Kelly received the Lebanon Police Department's "Citizen's Award" for his expertise in caring for their Police dog, Deissel, a 3 year old Belgian Malinois. Deissel had broken a tooth that could not be removed since he depends on all of his teeth to be an effective Police K-9. Dr. Kelly's willingness to help the Lebanon Police Department by donating time, staff, his animal hospital and skills allowed Deissel's tooth to be rebuilt.
